    Meet an Engineer Who Brings IoT Solutions to Life

    Jeremy Smith plays a pivotal role in developing innovative industrial software solutions.

    Based in Atlanta, Jeremy collaborates with software platform architecture and cloud engineering teams to deploy Honeywell Forge IoT (Internet of Things) solutions for industrial operations.

    What technologies, products, solutions or services do you work on?

    I am a principal technology product owner within our Honeywell Forge platform team. Honeywell Forge is our industrial IoT platform that powers a suite of cloud-hosted software solutions. I lead our Global Cloud Expansion Program, which ensures that the Forge platform and the many applications that rely on Forge are made available in high-growth markets. Additionally, I partner with software platform architecture and cloud engineering teams to deliver comprehensive automation for the secure deployment of our platform and products to cloud data centers across the globe.

    What inspired you to pursue a career in engineering? 

    My parents encouraged me to build and be creative at an early age. They afforded me the opportunities to explore electronics hardware and software programming. I was further encouraged and inspired by passionate teachers, inventors and scientists throughout my academic journey.

    What's the coolest thing you get to do in your job?

    Working with brilliant colleagues who span multiple functional areas is exhilarating. Leveraging technology at scale to deliver industrial software solutions in multiple regions requires a total team effort. Ingenuity and a commitment to delivering for our customers is constant.

    Pursue great mentorship and coaching. Value constructive feedback. Learn about the business and monitor both technology and economic trends.
