- Meet a #futureshaper: André Luis Defaveri
Every day the world consumes fuel for transportation, to cook and to generate energy.
André Luis Defaveri, a chemical engineer and business development manager, helps produce more fuel, at lower costs.
That includes making renewable fuel with feedstocks.
Based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; here is his #futureshaper story.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
My dream was to be a doctor, as my father. However, during high school I decided to be a chemical engineer. I had been selected to both medical and engineering school when I had applied for the university, but engineering got my preference.
What do you do?
I meet key people who have the power to decide and invest in producing more fuel. I also meet with several people from the government, banks, investors and industry associations who have key roles in this complex environment. All so that I can help produce more fuel, at lower costs, including renewable fuel.
What gets you excited about going to work every day?
I get excited when I’m connecting to people and creating something big. I also enjoy challenging business development and exposure with all stakeholders involved in my projects.
If you were a fortune reader, what would you predict as the future of your industry?
The world wants to reduce the human impact on the nature. We will be listening even more about different technologies to produce green fuel and to store clean and renewable energy.
In your eyes, what qualities does a #futureshaper possess?
A #futureshaper is someone self-motivated by the sense of constant improvement. Is someone who has a vision on how to create and innovate. Is a dreamer which has the ability to make things happen.
What advice would you give someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?
Make the difference on what you do to the world.
When you are not working, what do you do for fun?
I like to travel, experience different cultures, tell and listen to stories. I like to connect to people.
