Honeywell Commits 150 Crores Towards Environmental Sustainability Initiatives In India

New Delhi, June 5, 2023: Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) a leader in Industrial Technology solutions through its philanthropic arm, Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation (HHSIF) has announced its commitment to invest over INR. 150 Crores in this decade towards environmental sustainability projects in the rural communities in India. 

HHSIF will aim to create sustainable ecosystems that boost clean energy sources for agriculture, water conservation and restoration of water bodies, prevent soil erosion, promote STEM education and deep science applications in sustainable technologies and enhance livelihood opportunities in its communities in India.  The company together with its social development partners will engage in multiyear projects that include - tree plantation across 10 cities in India, creating watershed infrastructure across states to conserve groundwater and protect soil erosion, as well as installing solar power projects for irrigation and electrification in the villages.

For over 100 years, Honeywell has driven environmental responsibility by developing technology solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase energy efficiency, conserve water, minimize waste and drive efficiency across operations of its own operations as well as those of its customers. The company provides technology to produce green fuels, hydrogen-oriented technologies, carbon capture, and energy storage.  About 60% of Honeywell’s global research and development fund was directed toward ESG-oriented outcomes.
