Enhances User Interface and GPS Accuracy in Automotive and Consumer
Devices
PHOENIX, Feb. 16, 2009 -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today that it
has granted Kenwood Corporation and Kenwood USA Corporation (Kenwood) rights
under patented technology for automotive multimedia and Global Positioning
System (GPS) navigation devices.
The agreement provides rights to Kenwood under Honeywell’s GPS technology,
protected by numerous U.S. patents relating to mobile navigation
technology.
“Honeywell is a leader in the area of enhancing GPS technology to improve
safety and operator awareness in numerous systems for all kinds of vehicles,
including ground-based vehicles,” said Loria Yeadon, Vice President and General
