We Make Cool Things in Yeovil, UK: Life Support Systems and Beyond

Honeywell's Yeovil, UK, Aerospace Technologies site has been a hub of innovation since it was established in 1946. Our teams at this site design, develop, manufacture and repair products that are essential to aviation: life support systems, engine bleed and environmental control systems and hydraulic systems.

These technologies provide the highest standards of safety and efficiency in aviation.  

“Our life support systems are critical for high-altitude flight, providing breathing gas and protection against acceleration forces up to 9G,” said Grant Christmas, Senior Director of ISC Operations at the Yeovil site. “Yeovil is the only Honeywell site that manufactures these systems.”

The site also produces engine bleed and environmental control systems that control the pressure, flow and temperature of high-pressure air from the engine to the aircraft. This air is used to provide cabin pressurization, temperature control of the passenger and crew environment, and cooling for avionics and electronics. 

Hydraulic systems made in Yeovil are crucial for operating various aircraft systems. They store, filter, cool, and control high-pressure fluid for landing gear, steering, brakes, thrust reversers and flight control surfaces, helping to ensure the aircraft safety and performance.

This site is also focused on equipping the next generation of Futureshapers with the skills they need to succeed; they're doing that with a newly built apprentice training facility to help develop early career talent.
