Honeywell Licenses Patent-Protected LCD Technology To Acer 

Enhances Image Quality for Liquid Crystal Displays

PHOENIX, Feb. 11, 2009 -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today that it has granted Acer Inc. (Acer) rights under U.S. patent titled “Flicker-Free Liquid Crystal Display Driver System” (5,041,823) in the design and manufacture of performance LCD products.

Honeywell previously entered into similar arrangements with Sharp, Samsung Electronics, LG.Philips LCD, Toshiba, Hitachi, Winbond, NEC Electronics, DenMOS Technology and Renesas Technology Corp.

Honeywell recently filed lawsuits against eight electronics companies for infringement of U.S. patent 5,041,823. Acer will be released from the lawsuit. The litigation against non-licensees is pending.
