Finding of Suitability for Early Transfer for the Bannister Federal Complex (FOSET)

Under Section 120 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), federal agencies are allowed to transfer property before all necessary cleanup actions have completed. In this case, the Governor of the State of Missouri must concur with the deferral request for property not listed on the National Priorities List (NPL). Below are the documents associated with early transfer.


A public comment period was held May 5, 2017 to June 19, 2017.  Several comments were received via email and through comments recorded at a May 17 public hearing in Kansas City, MO. The U.S. Department of Energy’s responses to those comments are available at the following link.
