Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy
Honeywell believes that developing a new generation of scientists starts in the classroom. In partnership with the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Honeywell created the Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy scholarship program for middle school math and science teachers. Thanks in part to the financial support of Honeywell employees, more than 1,500 teachers from 36 countries and 50 states have graduated from this innovative STEM educational program.
During the five-day event, run every year in June, teachers participate in 45 hours of classroom, laboratory and training time, focusing on science and space exploration. Teachers also take part in astronaut-style exercises and simulations, as well as activities designed to promote new teaching practices in STEM education. All activities may be linked to professional development credits.
